A. Legal base, location, and space
The Trita Rimba of 500 ha has been established as a nature recreational park
on October 5, 1994 by decree of Minister of Forestry no. 440/Kpts-II/1994,
following the recommendation of Governor no. Pta. 4/I/14 dated December 8,
1976, and letter of Directorate-General of Forestry no. 2256/DJ/I/1978 dated
July 15, 1978.
Establishment of the Tirta Rimba as a nature recreational park is on the basis
of its function as habitat of endangered wild animals, and other recreational
potency e.g. waterfall, swimming pool, and beautiful coast.
The Tirta Rimba is geographically positioned between 4°29' - 4°30' southern
latitude and 122°38' - 122°40' eastern longitude, administratively in the
villages of Kadolomoko, Waruruma, and Kadolokatapi, Wolio Sub-district, Buton
District. Management of the Tirta Rimba is under authority of RPH Wolio, BKPH
West Buton Buton, KPH Buton.
B. Potency
The Tirta Rimba Nature Recreational Park is situated at 0 - 400 m above sea
level. It is topographically flat, sloping, hilly and mountainous, with slope
between 0 - 25%. Its soil is mediterranean and clay loam, with climate type C.
The rainfall varies between 1.050 mm -1.900 mm, with dry season from June
until November. The temperature is a 15°C - 35°C.
The main tourism potency are beautiful waterfall (± 10 m in alleviation),
nature swimming pool Wandawu-Dawu. Some wild animals founded within the area
are Sulawesi black monkey (Macaca brunescens) and various species of bird.
C. Accessibility
Because of its location near to Bau-Bau (only about 4 km) with smooth road,
the Tirta Rimba is easily accessible. It can be reached in 15 minutes by car.
D. Problems
The main problems faced are grabbing timber and rattan, firewood, as well as
claim from indigenous people. |
